Ontario Summer Leadership Camp

Year round - Head Office (905) 841-1314x26 After June 15 - Camp Office (705) 342-7345 200 Shebeshekong Road, Carling, Ontario

Great times start as your camper steps off the bus and is warmly greeted by their Cabin Counsellor!  After meeting their cabin mates and settling into their cabin, together they head off for dinner and later, their first evening campfire program!   After an early to bed, they wake up to the first of many action packed days.

Campers are awakened by morning announcements from our own Hidden Bay ‘radio station’, and after a hearty breakfast they begin a day full of activities – swimming and boating, wilderness studies, arts and crafts, archery, low ropes, music and drama or photography.  Choice is important to our campers, so in addition to daily skill building activities such as swimming, boating, archery and wilderness where they can earn achievement awards, they also make daily choices about which of the many interest activities they want to do.  In this way campers have the opportunity to make friends with campers who are not in their cabin or in the activities they have chosen.  Our daily ‘character trait’, Pond Time and goal setting encourage them to think about the kind of person they want to become.

Camp wide games, Beach time, meal times and campfires bring the campers together for a time with “old friends’ and a sense of community.

Also, one day every session, the camp gets “taken over” by a theme day—Whether is it Peter Pan looking for his shadow, Lucky the Leprechaun looking for his pot of gold, or a superhero in search of her super power, campers and counsellors alike dress up and take on new roles, in a group effort to solve the problem of the day!
